"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?

Hunters: Cowardly Ambushers – 1 November 2008
By Mary T. Hoffman

Our beautiful autumn weekend mornings are shattered by the cowardly ambushers of geese and ducks on the nearby Hudson River; and unfortunately, today was no exception.  They shoot from their camouflaged boats and blinds along the shoreline.

Early this morning, at the very second of official sunrise, the sound of multiple gunshots from these bloodthirsty killers of God’s innocent creatures could be heard here. It sounded as though we were in a war zone!

If any affirmation is needed of the Bible’s teaching that this is a fallen world, human hunters, who indulge in their warped sense of “fun,” provide ample proof. And if tomorrow morning is anything like the past few Sundays, these sociopathic jerks will be out there destroying life – probably before going to church. So much for a peaceful Sabbath!
