A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Snowy Silence – 21 December 2008
By Mary T. Hoffman

It has been snowing steadily since morning, adding several inches of the white stuff to what had already fallen, and it is absolutely gorgeous! As the sun begins to set, a faint golden/pinkish glow in the sky is adding to the beauty. Here are a few unrhymed lines I wrote:

Snowy Silence
(Written 21 December 2008)
Mary T. Hoffman

Soft white blanket of snow
Deepens with falling flakes
As winter wraps her arms around
Waiting naked trees, lakes, streams,
And silently clothes the earth
With beauty beyond words to describe.
