A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

New Year’s Resolutions – 2 January 2009
By Mary T. Hoffman

It’s that time of year when people talk about “New Year’s Resolutions.” Here are a few words of wisdom that I resolve to keep in mind as I continue my journey of life:

“The highest realms of thought are impossible to reach without first attaining an understanding of compassion.”
– Socrates (469–399 BC)

“Let he that would move the world, first move himself.”
– Socrates (469–399 BC)

Your life may be the only Bible some people read.

Do not repeat anything you will not sign your name to.

All of these quotations point toward a better life for the whole of creation. We cannot have a truly fulfilling life if we cause or contribute to the death of any other living being. Therefore our journey of life must be vegan!
