Letter from Veronica Concerning God's Will and Cruelty to Animals - 22 Sep 2004

Mary and Frank,

I recently found your website, and I LOVE it! I am also a vegan, and I am in process of switching my dog and cats to a vegan diet also! I live in Ta rural area and I may very well be the only vegan in the state!

The local paper here has a website and a community forum where people can discuss politics, religion, sports, etc. There is a thread going in the Religion forum about God condoning inhumane and cruel treatment of animals. I have tried explaining that God is compassionate and that I'm sure he is appalled at the way factory farms treat animals, but they just don't get it. I really want to make them see that it is wrong, and when the eat a hamburger they are paying to keep that process going.

Here in my state, people hunt and fish and keep dogs tied out in the backyard to scare people and they have no concept of how we should be treating God's creatures. I don't know if you have time, but if you could help me in some way get through to these people, I would really appreciate it.

If you would like to go to the site to see what is being said, here is the address, http://www.djournal.com/forum/category-view.asp

Dear Veronica:

Thank you for your encouraging compliments and for telling us about what yourself and your activities.

Deliberate hardness of heart is not something we can successfully argue against. These are the people of whom Jesus said to shake the dust off your feet and move on to another place. The majority of people, however, are hiding from the truth and can be reached by exposing them to the truth. From our experience, the more specific you are and the more graphic, the better, for most often these people need to be shocked into acknowledging the truth of the horrors of the animal agriculture industries.

We hope this helps.

We look forward to hearing from you again.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
