Letter from Angel about Animals, Eating, and Killing Animals - 9 Jul 2006

Yes, I agree that animal cruelty is wrong, but I remember reading something in the Bible that God sent food from heaven for a man to eat. I can't remember what it was, but I know it wasn't a cat or dog.

I was raised to eat pork, chicken, and beef but I won't eat any other animal. My Uncle hunts deer but only for the meat and he doesn't do it just kill them. He doesn't kill more than what we can eat.

I was raised different than most people and I do have compassion for these animals. I have two cats and dogs of my own. If something like this happened to them I would cry my heart out. My animals are my best friends.

I believe the animals that are being killed are in a better place because they are with God and they won't have to be hurt or abused again. I do have a heart for these animals as I was also abused since I was 4 1/2 but I am better now.

I believe in not killing any more than what you can eat, however, I am strongly opposed to killing cats and dogs.

I will never kill any animal. That's why I won't be a vet, I can't put the animal down. When I saw your website and all these pictures of the animals, I wanted to cry. But it is good that you post this on your site.

We have an animal cruelty laws where I live. Any person that abuses an animal gets fined and sent to jail.

Thank you for your time.

In the name of Jesus, God bless you.

Dear Angel:

Thank you for writing, and telling us about your family background.

The food from heaven that God gave the people was manna, and it contained two animal products. God was trying to move the people back to compassionate living, and to realize that they didnít need to eat any animals or their byproducts. Today, it is a well know medical fact that humans can be much healthier on an unprocessed plant based diet.

There is no humane or compassionate way to raise and kill an animal for food, and if it bothers you so much to kill an animal, why is it ok for you to have someone else kill the animal for you?

Animals deserve the same rights we do to not to be abused. And the laws you mentioned do not apply to farmed animals.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
