Letter from Linda Lori about Ending the Suffering of Animals - 28 Jan 2007

Hi Frank and Mary,

Sorry not to get back to you sooner. My life is work (I'm a Realtor) and rescuing animals. I just placed two cats in a wonderful home that were abandoned in a dumpster. Now I have another cat that I found eating birdseed under my bird feeder. The poor thing was so hungry that it ate a half a can of dog food (I have 7 dogs here and no cats) and cheddar cheese. (not much in the house for cats at such a late hour)

I have always had a problem with being completely perplexed as to how any of the videos of animal cruelty are filmed and afterwards the animals not saved. I see the point of the video but afterwards, I would have to go back and pay for the animals, or whatever to save them. Even if it was just one or two.

I have a friend in California who is very interested in rescuing dogs in China. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you,

Linda

Dear Linda:

Thank you for your reply.

The major problem with acquiring undercover videos is that if they are detected the film will be confiscated and the world would not have any proof of the atrocities. They also could be arrested and the animals still tortured and killed. In these situations it is very difficult to rescue even one animal.

With the money and time spent to rescuing one animal from China, dozens could be rescued in our own country. There are people China who are trying to do rescue work, too, and they are much better equipped to do so.

Our most productive efforts are to expose the truth and encourage people not to buy the products of tortured animals.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
