Letter From Veronica About Our Site, About Being Vegetarian, About Cruelty - October 22, 2008

I have been a vegetarian for three years. I wanted to email and thank you for educating people about the harm and senseless acts that humans have done against animals. If I only had been educated sooner. It took me to find out for myself what is hidden from the public and all around the world. I have seen the video of the beautiful raccoon dogs being skinned alive and it's so awful. China is the worst among the Asian countries.

However your website points out there's no difference. We do the same thing here to our animals. It is true. I cannot believe people wear fur, eat veal, chickens, cow's milk, etc.

People just don't understand. Many people think that I am crazy but they fail to understand that eating animals, wearing them or using them for senseless experiments is wrong. I am so glad that you have a place where animals can go and they have been saved. I was raised in California. I now live in Oregon. I remember passing the cattle corals where the cows stood in the hot sun. I felt so sorry for them waiting to be killed.

I do understand on the California ballot there is an initiative to prohibit battery caged chickens, veal crates and gestation crates in the state of California. I hope it PASSES with FLYING COLORS. I wish I could vote.

I am glad that your website shows all forms of animal abuse. It shows what suffering animals go through every day and shows people what is really going on.

I hope to visit your sanctuary some day. I wish I lived closer, I would volunteer my time. I believe if people eat meat etc. they should have to participate in killing, then I hope they would change their minds if they feel they need to eat meat. As you know every being is begging for their lives in the slaughterhouses all over the world.

Anyhow I wanted you to know there are many others who feel the same way. We may be reincarnated and be animals ourselves in our own lives. If every child were raised vegetarian or better yet vegan, animals would not treated these barbaric ways.

Please reply. I would love to hear from like-minded animal folks who care about those who have no voice. God Bless.

Yours truly,

Veronica Bend, Oregon

Reply from Frank and Mary Hoffman

Dear Veronica:

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging comments about our web site, and for telling us about yourself. We are also working on expanding our ministry all over the world, as we believe that the animals will never be truly free until the religious institutions get behind the movement.

We do not have a sanctuary of our own, but we work with other groups that do rescue animals.

We'd be very interested in hearing about the many other people you mentioned. Are they in your area?

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
