Letter From Nancy About the Bible and Not Eating Animals - 22 November 2008

Where in the Bible does it say anything about not eating animals?

Nancy

Dear Nancy:

Thank you for your visit and question.

Think about what we are told in Revelation 21:4:  If there is no death in heaven, there can be no eating of animals.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:48 that we are to be perfect as our father in heaven is perfect. Since our perfect God created the heaven and earth to be death free, shouldn't we also abide by His intent?

This is also what Jesus told us to pray for in The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:10): Thy kingdom come! Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

So, if we pray for this death-free heaven to be here on earth, doesn't that also mean that we should do everything in our power to eliminate the products of death and suffering from our lives?

We hope this helps.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
