Letter From Richelle About Saving Turkeys and Raising Compassionate Kids - 27 May 2009

Hello!

I saw your page on the exploitation of turkeys when I was looking for information about them. It is horrific and I am still having trouble believing people can be so casually cruel. (I am thankful that I have never eaten animals and supported this industry.)

I wanted you to know, though I'm sure you do, that there are those of us out there who are doing our best to rescue animals, and I just wanted to send you a picture of our little turkeys. They are just a week old.

Their mother was killed by a fox, and we have hatched them for her. We can never replace her mother, but we are trying to be the best parents we can. I take a lot of animals who have been abandoned by owner or parent and love them all. Some people say we should not have contact with the little animals we raise, but I believe all God's creatures need nurturing, and have taught my children the same. They will stay with us for all of their lives now.

Anyway, there are those of us that love all creatures, and I thought this just might be something nice in all the not so nice stuff out there!

Take care and God Bless.

Dear Richelle:

Thank you very much for writing, and for telling us about you and your family's animal rescue efforts. What you are doing is great.

Please keep us informed about how the babies are doing. We'd also like to publish the story about your rescue and the life of the birds as they grow up.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
