Dear Dr. Gibbons:
Re: SNBL’s negligently killing 29 primates by starvation, traumatic
injuries, heat stress, fungal conditions, and hypothermia in Texas [SNBL:
Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories, Ltd.]
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT SNBL??!!
In 2008 they boiled a monkey alive in their Everett, WA. lab! The
USDA/APHIS did nothing! At that time Joanie Mcully, the former Animal
Care Supervisor for SNBL said, “Foam was coming out of her mouth, and her
gripping the bars of the cage. They had to peel her off that cage.” I
cried and cried and cried. (SNBL subsequently fired her.) The SNBL
veterinarian’s only reaction was, “Now all that paperwork—USDA and AAALAC.
What fun!”
And now you’re allowing SNBL to get away with killing even more primates!!!
Don’t you care??!!
A whistleblower in Texas revealed that many of SNBL’s primates have
tuberculosis, and are being shipped to other labs across the U.S.!!
I don’t usually write angry letters, but when that monkey was boiled alive
just miles from me, and the USDA/APHIS did absolutely nothing about it, I
was furious. And now you’ve let them starve, bake, and kill 29 more!!!
How can you be so callous??!! Don’t you even care??
I’ve been told my letters should be polite. But I’m so sickened by
what you’re allowing SNBL to do, it makes me sick.
