Dr. Francis Collins, Director
National Institutes of Health
1 Center Drive
Bethesda, MD. 20814
Dear Dr. Collins:
PLEASE see that the Alamogordo chimps, including those sent to the lab in
Texas, be permanently retired and placed in the care of a sanctuary as soon
as possible. The American Anti-vivisection Society has pledged to pay
for their care for the rest of their lives. All NIH owned and
supported chimpanzees, many of whom are elderly and sick, deserve loving
care in a sanctuary; perhaps none more so than the Alamogordo chimps, many
of whom were used in highly invasive experiments. Time is short for
many of these chimps.
Would you please make retiring these chimps to accredited sanctuaries a
priority?
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Darlene Kaiser
