A Letter from Eleni Michaels Concerning Forced Fed Birds and Our Response

Eleni Michaels' Letter - 14 June 2002

Hi

I've just been visiting your web site and read about the forced fed birds which off course any sort of cruelty to animals is beyond my comprehension, however I didn't see any mention on your web page about what we can do to stop these inhumane acts except stop eating the animals and personally I've already done that almost 10 years ago.  Is your organization petitioning against such action, or is there something else that you may be doing to help these animals.

Thanking you for your time.

Our Response 14 June 2002

Dear Eleni:

Thank you very much for your letter and interest in stopping cruelty to animals.

Your not eating animals and their by-products is an excellent way of making a public stand against the cruelty to all animals, and the more you tell others the more effective your position becomes.  Use the foie gras horrors as an example of this cruelty.

If you see foie gras being sold in a store or served in a restaurant, speak to the manager about the cruelty involved and ask him or her to remove it from their shelves and menu.  If they refuse, write a letter to the editor of your local paper(s) telling about the horrors forced feeding ducks and geese, and that by selling or eating foie gras we are supporting such cruelty.  You also could hand out a flyer or copies of our articles in front of any store or restaurant that sells foie gras.

We hope this helps you in our mutual efforts to stop pain and suffering in this world.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank
