James 2:17 New International Version
17. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Anyone can claim being a man or woman of faith. we can go to church sing our songs, pray and nod our head in agreement to the pastor’s messages, but this is more of a pew sitting way of being a Christian. It doesn’t reveal faith. Our actions must mirror what it says in the bible. We are to build the kingdom of God with our actions of faith. It says “Be” witnesses….feed the hungry, drive out demons and heal the sick, and this means all living beings; human and animal. Faith in God is for us to have the desire to please God. He created and cares for all living beings and we are assigned to be stewards over His creation. It is in carrying each other's burdens by showing love, support and acceptance and it is in resting in or trusting God when we are under fire. It is in reaching out to living beings on our path who are suffering and showing to them the mercy and compassion of christ.
What we do, not only expresses our faith, but it strengthens our walk. To be other minded is to trust that God will take care of your needs when the time arises. We have to show with our actions and words that we love God and are willing to obey Him. Jesus walked on the earth and exposed Himself to danger and betrayal…..yet He kept moving forward without hesitation, knowing that whatever He faced, His Father knew about it and already had the answer. When Jesus willingly walked to the cross, He had so completely submitted to God, that although He knew what He would suffer, He knew a greater truth……...He went to the cross in faith, certain of His Father’s love for Him and certain of His love for His Father.
He had faith that what He was to do would free the world and end sickness and death.
His actions were the evidence of His faith and commitment to God. What are our actions evidence of?
We must be praying and reading the Bible to see what faith looks like to God; then we must make ourselves available to hear from God the personal instructions He has for us...
God bless,
Marni

The purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
