Jeremiah 33:3 New King James Version
3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Sometimes we act like God wants to keep us in the dark about things, but nothing could be further from the truth. God wants us to know Him and to desire His plan and perfect will for our life. He waits for us to seek Him with expectant hearts ready to receive incredible blessings and insight. He longs for that moment when we ask Him to show us the mysteries of His Kingdom.
These things He wishes to show us are, as the word says, great and mighty things. These are things we will never be able to find out on our own. They are not earthly things. Only God holds these truths and it is when we seek His heart and call out to Him that we acknowledge that we need Him and His plan. God gives us revelation and within these revelations we are filled with hope for our future. We become satisfied and rest in the internal quiet of our heart.
This one on one communion with God allows us an open door into the Kingdom of light. But there’s no way to tell you what these mighty things will be, because for each of us God divulges something unique to us; something that will bring us into a place of knowing and that will draw us closer to our Creator. That is an awesome offer God makes to us and it’s so simple. Call to God. That’s it. That’s all we need to do. And He will reveal what you need to know in that moment. This should be pretty simple. Something we jump at, but we don’t. Instead we try to find the answers on our own or solve our own problems.
God has a simple request. He asks us to call to Him. We don’t have the information we need to make wise choices and to know which steps will take us to what we were created for. It is only in the guidance and wisdom of one who sees into our future and has prepared the way, which gives us those precise steps. We need Him and His advice.
We seem to cry out to God only when we are in a desperate place, but God wants us to make it a habit to call out to Him. He wants to show us things we could never imagine knowing, but what our hearts desire to know. He cannot do this if we don’t ask Him or want it? God promises that He will answer when we call to Him. He will answer in whatever way He knows is best.
Some people have stood face to face with Jesus and there are others who see angels or it’s in the word of God where wisdom or leading is found. Everything He wants us to know is in the word, but it doesn’t stop there. He gives personal words that speak into our situation with accuracy and clarity. God knows us intimately and He knows exactly what is required to get our attention. See how loving our Father is. He pursues us even when our focus is elsewhere.
Challenge: Call out to God. Ask Him to speak to you and reveal those great and mighty things.
God bless

The purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
