Psalm 27:13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

In this world we need hope; a real hope that helps us get over hurdles and gives us something to lean on through life’s valleys.

Sometimes obstacles are suddenly thrown at us and we are taken off guard.

Before this happens we need a solid place where we can plant both emotional and spiritual feet and stand in faith.   It is easy to lose heart and become discouraged and that is why it is important to be strengthened in our walk with God and knowing that He is good.

We must believe that God wants the best for us.   It is easy to despair because of the many difficulties that humans have to face, but to believe that God’s desire is to bring blessings into our life is what gives us that hope.

The Lord is goodness itself.  When He manifests His presence into our moments, we are surrounded with hope and a knowing that all is well.  We must also remember that this goodness comes in many forms.  There are times when we must wait for certain things to happen. God’s timing is wisdom and if we see His goodness, we will also see the goodness in the hard things we encounter before the manifestation of our prayers.

God’s goodness is all around us. It reveals itself in our daily lives as well as when things seem to be heavy and unpredictable.   We must believe in the goodness of God or we will be tempted to believe the negative reports that bombard our hearts and minds.

With a strong and steady belief in God’s goodness for this day, we will feel the relief from the burden of worry and stress.  Living in the moment allows God’s goodness to present itself in any way that is necessary for the purposes of God to unfold and for hope to be realized.  We cannot see the future, but God can and with His knowledge of things to come,  He is  able to to prevent the unimaginable.     There is a promise in believing in God’s goodness. It is the promise that we will not despair if we do believe.  It is the promise that God will show His goodness and it is the promise that His way will bring the best for us.

Challenge:  Believe the truth; that God is good.  Make yourself remember what God has done in your life and let that light shine on your trials of today.

God bless

Marni

lamb-rightThe purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
