I am so ashamed that I was conditioned to participate in the heartbreaking sadness felt by all these mothers and their poor, dear calves.

It’s only when my son was born and I myself went through the process of producing milk that I could fully comprehend the viciousness of dairy farming.

People try to justify it in the name of nutrition and calcium, ignoring abundant and far healthier plant-based sources, as well as the fact that no human needs breast milk beyond early childhood, much less the mother’s milk of other species. Yet we exploit millions of these animals, steal babies away from their mothers, and kill the young males all for a glass of milk that 2/3 of the world’s population can’t even digest.

And why is that? Because milk is baby food: that is why we are weaned.

I am so ashamed that I was conditioned to participate in the heartbreaking sadness felt by all these mothers and their poor, dear calves.
