All I'll Ever Know of You

An Animal Rights Poem from All-Creatures.org

All of God's creatures have rights, a fact that most people don't seem to recognize. This includes both human and non-human animals, but not all of them can speak for themselves.

All I'll Ever Know of You
By Anonymous

All I'll ever know of you
Is the markings on your face
And that you were taken from this life
And your body left no grace

All I see inside your eyes
Is the reflection of your death
The image made, imprinted there
When you took your last, weak breath

All I'll ever know of you
Is your flesh discarded here
But wherever your spirit may lie
Let my heart be lying near

Wherever your spirit may lie
Let my heart be lying near
