Poetry, Essays and Art By J.H. Dickinson from All-Creatures.orgI wake, my beloved one
to a new day.
Unfolding
soft amber,
delicate birthed light.
As the Earth yawns.
New year,
dawn and shadow.
I sigh,
feeling cold booted toes,
watching dance and
sparkle of iced fairy ground,
lick of winter.
And there you are,
beloved one,
before me,
dark eyes
awash with sentience.
Eyeing the dawn
in curious and steady gaze.
I see you.
As we begin again,
the dance
to make you free.
