Beside me

Lay beside me and feel no pain
No threat
Hushed voices that whisper peace
Thrum of heating
Sweet surrender

I am no more valuable than you

Let me walk in fields
Of shared frosted breath
On blackened hillside of ochre morning
We, the peaceful silhouettes
United in heartbeats

I am no more valuable than you

See me beside you - in voice
In action and blazing eyes
In clenched fists
In recognition of truth:

I am no more valuable than you

title, cat, and cow
