How Glad Are They
Poetry and Music By Andrew Pell

(A paraphrase of the Beatitudes and a guide to good living)
How glad are they that serve the Lord.
God holds us close with a golden cord.
How glad are they that live in peace.
The creativeness of life can only increase.
How glad are they that do not make war.
It is the lust for power that makes man want more.
How glad are they that respect all life.
They will be protected from earthly strife.
How glad are they who endure hardship for love.
Their reward will come from above.
How glad are they that extend the hand of friendship.
God's best wine will they always sip.
How glad are they that can transcend all religion and race.
They walk with the light of God on their face.
How glad are they that love all animals.
The animals are God's special angels.
How glad are they that peace to man.
They show wisdom and truly understand.
How glad are they who the hungry feed.
It is through God's eyes that you meet their needs.
How glad are they that walk in the light.
They will create miracles beyond delight.
