A piece of my soul flew with you
as you soared into that place
beyond the scope of Time.

I bid it farewell as it donned
its own set of eyes to behold
your shining countenance There.

Here, the spaces you once filled
resonate with echoes
of your presence
and of your absence.

Everything else
reflects you --
once more, you,
yet again, you --
through a mantle of sorrow,

while my disengaged fragment of soul
sends messages
of rejoicing.
