Rooster Jerry

Jerry has PTSD.

Dumped in a city park in the dead of winter, Jerry was picked up and taken to a local animal shelter.

I saw a picture of Jerry on the day he was was scheduled to be euthanized at 5:00.

His comb tips and toes were badly frost bitten. He looked nervous.

With help we had him pulled in the nick of time.

Once safe here, it was revealed he had blunt trauma to his jaw. The kind most likely the result of a swift kick in the face.

Jerry is very scared of any sizable bag or container. His trigger reaction is violent defense.

He will flog any human carrying a container.

A humanís reaction to Jerryís fear was to violently punish him and ultimately abandon him.

Jerry was labeled as a mean rooster.

Jerry is sweet and funny, desires comfort and love, enjoys his friends and human cuddles, just like a dog or cat.

Jerry is not a mean rooster.

Jerry is a scared rooster.

99.9% of roosters who are labeled mean, are simply protecting themselves and their family.

99.9% of roosters can become gentle with humans.

I am always available to talk folks through helping their rooster feel safe.
