It saddens me to say goodbye to another sheep, but I can honestly say, he's had the best life I could possibly offer. I was lucky enough to spend nearly 16 years with this sweet boy.

Sheep Jo Jo

February 17:

There comes a time in all our lives, when making a life/death decision is upon us. Mine is here now, with my long time sheep friend, JoJo. He's 15 going on 16 and he's had an obvious stroke, or some other neurological affliction.

He wanders aimlessly across the property and isn't interested in eating or water. It's time to let him go, peacefully, and without pain with the help of a vet. He's confused and disoriented all the time now, and I'm devastated, but I knew it was coming. He's been losing weight, and is just not himself.

It saddens me to say goodbye to another sheep, but I can honestly say, he's had the best life I could possibly offer, he's never been hungry or thirsty, he's had treats, special brushes every day, and quality time with me and his sheep friends. He was/is a very happy boy.

Sheep Jo Jo

February 18:

My sweet JoJo is at peace, and is no longer suffering confusion, disorientation, and lack of food/water issues, and I am feeling a huge mix of emotions - sadness, relief, and celebration - that I was lucky enough to spend nearly 16 years with this sweet boy, that he loved me so much, and I him, that he had the best life I could ever offer, and he's had friends, good friends. What more could he ask?

He was always a voracious eater, a very vocal boy, always asking for treats, and spent most of his life overweight because he always had pastures and fresh grass for which to fill his belly. He was rescued by Farm Sanctuary (Animal Acres) in late 2004 from a major rescue they performed in Acton, CA. He came to me on my farm in Arizona, along with Bitsy, and Andy. Andy has new friends in Dude and Dilly, and will not be alone, which eases my heart, and mind.

RIP my sweet, lovable boy JoJo.
