FROM Gina Lynn, New Life Animal Sanctuary
February 2021

We are profoundly grateful and honored to have been able to give Patty the best 14 months of her life.

Patty Llama

We can hardly find the words... We posted yesterday about our beautiful lab survivor, Patty, being ill. Our vet felt that her body was shutting down due to old age. But we desperately hoped she was wrong and treated with anything Dr. Hall thought could possibly help just in case.

But nothing helped.

Gina Lynn

Gina, our founder, stayed outside with her off and on throughout the night, making sure Patty was warm enough and comfortable, and looking for signs of hope. Around 6am Patty took a turn and we knew she was ready to go. Dr. Hall rushed back over and helped Patty quietly and peacefully go to sleep.

While our hearts are hurting that she didn’t have more time out of the laboratory, we also know she’s one of the lucky few—the only llama as far as we know—who had any time out of the lab at all. We are profoundly grateful and honored to have been able to give Patty the best 14 months of her life.

Special thank you to Dr. Hall at Temecula Creek Equine, to our volunteers who handle the day to day care here, to our supporters who make these rescues possible, and to Vanessa and Ryan of
Advancing Law for Animals and Michael and Karen of SAEN - Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! who were instrumental in securing Patty’s release from the lab.

Run Free Patty. We love you and you will remain in our hearts forever.
