Demeaning of Life

Empty words and emptier meanings,
Meandering across the page. Voice of confusion
Carry me away to some deeper meaning
That I do not know. - Wait! - Does silence bring release?
Does a moment of respite carry out God's plan?

Hope is tied and bound for service to the highest bidder.
Selling one's soul for a lifetime of diversion,
So as to not feel the guilty pain and remorse of dwindling time.
The devil has his purpose - if - he would be god -
If not of this world, then one of his own making.

As a spiteful child and with subterfuge,
He tries to circumvent his Creator's handiwork,
So he can play god in the garbage he has made.
But for those few moments in a lifetime of challenge,
We sit...we make ourselves still...we hear His voice - clearly.

And then we know, but only for a second, that the pursuit of His Will
IS the meaning of our existence - the purpose in which we were created.
To commune with God in each of our fleeting moments;
To divine his Will by obeying what little we already know,
So that we may receive a little more understanding
And bring about His Will in us...with the benefit of just knowing Him.
