Sea Shell Wishes

Once there was a little girl named Shelby. Shelby loved to go and play at the beach. She liked the sound of the waves and the birds. One of Shelby's favorite things to do was collecting seashells from the beach. Every day after school Shelby would go and find the most wonderful shell on the beach.

One day when Shelby came home from school, she went down to the beach to collect seashells. Shortly after she started looking for shells she heard the strangest sound. The sound was a high-pitched voice, and it sounded like it said her name.

"Shelby" said the sound again. She looked around and she found a shell made out of gold. She picked it up and took it to her house.

When she got to her house, she studied the shell. Then she put the shell to her ear. The shell said "Hey Shelby can I be your friend?" Shelby dropped the shell. "OUCH" said the shell. "What are you?" asked Shelby. "Why I'm a magic shell," replied the shell. Shelby asked, "What do you do?" "Well, when someone picks me up I grant them three wishes," said the shell. "Cool" said Shelby. "Can I have my three wishes now" asked Shelby. "Sure" said the shell, "but make sure you put me back at the beach after your three wishes, or I will take them all away." "OK" said Shelby.

Shelby thought for a minute then said, "For my first wish I would like a pony please." "One pony coming up" said the shell. A pony appeared outside in her front yard. "WOW" said Shelby and she continued with her second wish, which was to have the most wonderful seashells in the world. "No problem" replied the seashell. Suddenly jars and jars of seashells appeared on her shelf. "Thank you very much," said Shelby. "You have one wish left," said the seashell. "OK" said Shelby. "For my last wish, I wish that I had a new basket that I could put seashells in." Suddenly a colossal basket appeared on her bed.

"Thank you for all my wishes" said Shelby. "You are welcome," replied the seashell. "Now can you take me back to the beach?" "Sure" said Shelby. When Shelby put the seashell under the sand she told him that she would miss him. He would miss Shelby also and till this day that shell is sitting there under the sand waiting for someone to pick him up and take him home.
