The Sword of My Soul

What is prayer...peaceful meditation?
It is hacking through our perimeter of rebellion,
Scratching and clawing for stability,
In an unstable, uncertain world.
It's out maneuvering Satan and his minions
And the demon shells he calls home.
It's fighting for survival,
When destruction is the name of the game.
It is inheriting the skills and power of my Father
And the will to surrender to Him for strength.
 
It is kicking the enemies legs out from under them
And placing my foot upon their necks,
While all the while loving them unconditionally,
Without breaking my stride.
 
It is taking my place in the heavens,
While sojourning here on Earth.
It is becoming who I was always meant to be
As a testimony to His greatness.
 
The sword cannot be seen, but it can be felt,
The shield is not visible and yet it is -
For no one can lay hands on His anointed,
Without first acquiring His permission...

...Which He ain't giving!
