The Healing Power of Prayer

Faith healers are not as numerous today as they were in the old west, when people were often led more by superstition than Truth. But there was one who made a pretty good living laying hands on the sick. Reverend Jeffrey Prayer knew how to shape the beliefs of others to suit his personal objectives.

If the sick did not recover, he would say they did not have enough faith or harbored some secret sin that needed to be repented of before they could be healed. It was a slick operation. He was never to be blamed or held accountable for the failure to heal, while reaping the benefits, both promotionally and financially, for those who did get well.

He was very successful for several years, holding healing services and taking up offerings, until one day he got sick and eventually died. I wonder what his secret sin was?
