The Never Ending Gonnas

One day Keith was going to learn to play the guitar. Just as soon as…well he forgot what was holding him back, but he would one day and start a band with himself as the lead singer. He couldn’t sing himself out of a wet paper bag, but it was a dream of his ever since he was in high school, over thirty years ago.

Another thing he is going to do is to get another job. Waiting tables was fine for the last three decades, but he was noticing customers finding it odd that they were being served by a fifty-year-old waiter with wrinkled clothes and a beard. So he definitely was looking for another line of work…maybe as a waiter in another restaurant or maybe as an insurance claims adjuster.

He also was going to buy himself a home, one that he owned himself, instead of renting an apartment in a run down side of town. The only problem was his two cats that would urinate all over the apartment floor. It would be difficult to move elsewhere, so he needed to stay put as long as he had the cats.

He was also going to buy a computer one day when he could afford it. The last one fried during an electrical storm and he looked forward to one day soon having enough money to buy another one.

There were many other things he was going to do…one day…soon…when things were a little better for him financially. Too bad he had to get older while he waited on them.
