As you know, Laurel Park has recently been in the news for both a pile of dead horses and a subsequent (temporary) closure. While we were able to garner some media on this, it’s crucial that we not let up. That’s where local activists come in.
And on that, over the past couple years there have been no more dedicated voices than Jennifer Sully and Peter Herrera, with the pair having organized close to a combined 50 protests at Laurel, Pimlico, and Delaware Park. Saturday, Jennifer, Peter, and a host of others were at Laurel fighting the fight. Both NBC Baltimore and CBS Baltimore covered the protest.
