(Chicken - Baby - 01) At the hatchery, chicks enter this world inside drawers of huge incubators. They have no mother to take care of them as God intended. Every time we see a scene like this one we think of Jesus' words as He looked upon Jerusalem: "...how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing." (Matthew 23:37) And now, because of the hardness of heart of human beings, the analogy of a hen gathering her chicks under her wings is no longer applicable. Photo from: Farm Sanctuary |
