Moo-ving people toward compassionate living

From Denise - 18 November 2007 I just looked at the pictures of the pigs in the living hell they have to endure for us wretched humans. These photos are so terribly painful to look at. I have recently become a vegetarian and sometimes it's very hard, until I see photos like this. How do we get these atrocities out there for the public to see? Can't we
start some kind of campaign to get this stuff on national TV so that
everyone can know what is going on? The only kind of comfort I can seem to have is that at least their poor
lives aren't going on as long as their life-spans could allow. I live in South Dakota where there aren't a whole lot of vegetarian
choices. To talk to others about this who don't know and "don't want to
know" makes me feel so alone in this incredible pain I am experiencing for
the animals. How do I live with this knowledge of the suffering of the
animals? Deeply saddened,
Dear Denise: Thank you very much for your compassionate heart and email. It is hard for caring people to live with the knowledge, particularly
when faced with so many hard of heart people. All we can do is keep trying
to spread the word everywhere we can and to write letters to the editor. The
media problem is one of advertising dollars. They don't want to take a
chance of losing an advertiser because they showed some material that was
detrimental to their products. We also live in a rural area, where very few people are vegetarian
(vegan), but everything you need can be found in major supermarkets. Also
