According to The Iditarod Trail Committee (ITC), Rodman,
a three year old
male, [Sled dog] died on Sunday, March 14, 1999 from complications
associ-
ated with acute pneumonia.
The Iditarod Trail Committee claims that the animals get
wonderful veterinary
care during the race. Why, then, did Rodman's pneumonia go undiagnosed?
If it was diagnosed, Rodman should have been pulled out and given
medical
attention.
