Colgate-Palmolive Company has decided to declare a
moratorium on using
animals to test their personal care products. This moratorium is to
start
immediately. Colgate claims that almost 100% of their testing involves
using
available data and alternatives that don't include animals.
PeTA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
has been working with
Colgate for almost 2 years to achieve this moratorium, and applauds this
step
forward. This only includes Colgate's personal care products and there
are
other products they continue to test, but it is certainly a giant step
in the right
direction. This is a good time to congratulate Colgate on their
decision, and to
reinforce the need to find alternative testing for all of their
products. Colgate
