In cooperation with the Vegetarian Union of North
America (VUNA), I am excited
to announce a new project, the Vegetarian Food Fair Manual Project. The
purpose of this project is to produce a comprehensive manual that
explains the
procedure for organizing and holding a vegetarian food fair, an outreach
event that
features vegetarian food together with education and literature about
the benefits
of a vegetarian diet.
This project will not be successful without input from
individuals and groups in the
North American vegetarian community. Input is needed from people with an
interest in vegetarian food fairs, regardless of their experience with
this kind of
event. The goal is to produce a manual that is useful to both
experienced groups
and groups that have not yet held food fairs.
The first phase of the project is a questionnaire that
will provide information about
the expectations and needs of those who will use the manual. Responses
to the
questions will be used to create a tentative table of contents and make
layout and
design decisions. Anyone interested in participating in the project may
go to the
project Web site to view the questionnaire or contact the project
manager to
receive a hard copy. The Web site also contains additional background
information and the project proposal.

Questions about the project or questionnaire are
welcome, and I look forward to
working with other vegetarians on this important project. Thank you in
advance
for your input.
