The Animal Legal Defense Fund is working through the
courts across the United States to assert that humans have legal
standing to compel enforcement of animal protection laws. In addition to
being a major force behind the emerging field of Animal Law, they have
achieved several landmark rulings affirming that animals have basic
rights, including freedom from neglect and cruel experimentation.
