The fur retailing season is almost upon us. Beginning
with the Friday after Thanksgiving (Fur Free Friday), animal activists
will be focusing on the three largest retailers of fur and fur trim:
Macy's East, Neiman Marcus and the Burlington Coat Factory.
www.FurFreeFriday.com, a joint project of LCA and CAFT
(Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade) serves as a resource for the entire
animal rights movement, coordinating activities across the country,
providing information to the media, listing plans by AR groups and
recruiting new people to join the fight to end the barbarism that is the
fur industry. Last year, the site listed 210 anti fur protests in five
countries.
If you or your organization has plans for this fur
season, be sure to list them on FurFreeFriday.com. If you wish to
participate in your community, check the site for contact information
for planned activities in your area. At the very least, direct a friend
to FurFreeFriday.com!
CAFT/LCA are urging activists not already committed to a
particular fur retail target to direct their efforts against Burlington
Coat Factory this year. BCF has 260 stores across the country, one is
surely close to you.
We have prepared a Burlington Packet to assist you in
organizing an effective local campaign against BCF. Just email [email protected]
We'll get it right out to you!
