Two items of news just came across the ARO desk. First,
the killer of Leo, the Bichon Frise dog thrown into traffic due to
seeming road rage, was convicted by the jury hearing the case.
Sentencing is still pending, but could be as much as three years in
prison.
The other good news is that the city of Pasadena,
California - the place that hosts the Rose Parade each New Years day -
has adopted an ordinance that adds a new chapter 6.40 to the Pasadena
Municipal Code "Restricting the Display of Animals for Entertainment or
Amusement
purposes!!!! The new ordinance in effect bans all
Circuses and Rodeos. Pasadena is among 11 cities to have this type of
ordinance, along with one country - Sweden.
