VegSource Healthy Lifestyle Conference 2003

Friday night, September 19 through Sunday, September 21
Manhattan Beach Marriott Hotel just minutes from LAX (Los Angeles International Airport)

It's that time of year again -- time for what John McDougall MD last year termed "the most important vegetarian conference I've attended in 30 years" -- the VegSource Healthy Lifestyle Conference.

The energy-packed weekend includes a number of distinguished speakers, a Saturday night Pajama Party, entertainment, surprise guests, cooking demonstrations, golfing, special hotel rates, and a Sunday panel including religious leaders who will address the Spiritual/Philosophical Connections to Vegetarianism.

TV cameras and large rear-projection screens to see the speaker and presentations, and a hot new sound system means that every seat will be a great seat at the conference this year.

The Speaker list features the following:

John Robbins
John is author of several bestsellers including Diet for a New America and Food Revolution; he is also founder of EarthSave International.

T. Colin Campbell, PhD
Jacob Schulman Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Director of the China-Oxford-Cornell Diet and Health Project.

Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D.
A preventive cardiology consultant in the Department of General Surgery,
Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland Ohio.

John McDougall, M.D.

Neal Barnard, M.D.
Best-selling author, nutrition researcher, and adjunct associate professor of medicine at George Washington University, D.C. He is president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).

Doug Lisle
Director of Research for TrueNorth Health Clinic. Author of The Pleasure Trap and numerous articles in scientific journals.

Tom Gegax
Philanthropist founder of Tires Plus. Author of Winning in the Game of Life and The Enlightened Executive.

Short early-morning cooking demonstrations emphasizing the ease of healthy vegetarian cooking will feature Sabrina Nelson of VegSource, Chef Tanya of Native Foods, and best-selling cookbook author Marie Oser.

Food at the conference will be prepared by the hotel and will be low-fat vegan whole food McDougall style overseen by the chef from Dr. McDougall's Santa Rosa clinic.
