I was wondering what you feel about on-line auctions including Frontline Plus for Dogs being sold for use on CATS.

I have found some auctions selling a SINGLE PIPETTE of Frontline Plus for dogs and instructing buyers to divide the pipette into EIGHT doses for cats. Included in the auction w/the pipette is a vial and a syringe. And, from what I am lead to believe, some sellers are NOT including the manufacturer's box or the instructions from inside the box. One seller even has the audacity to sell serum-filled syringes of what is said to be Frontline! Another seller, in response to my inquiry, emailed me HIS list of instructions which included the statement "ok for pregnant cats." I have spoken with some in the veterinary field and was told that in NO way is DOG FRONTLINE PLUS safe for pregnant cats.

I hope you are as outraged as I am. If so--could you direct me to someone who could help stop this potentially deadly practice? ANY assistance/guidance you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Terry Sue:

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. We did not know that this was happening. But, as the article suggest, this doesn't seem to be a reliable source.

First of all, we would suggest that you contact your local vet, and ask him or her if this is legal. We would also suggest that you take a look at and email then with your questions and concerns, as they have much more experience in this area than we do.
