Dear Fellow Animal Lovers,

Natiional Dog Week is 9/21 to 9/27/03. The purpose is to promote the
relationship between people and their dogs, giving recognition to the
human-canine bond.

Here is an original poem I wrote, to commemorate the occasion. It is
entitled "A Puppy". Please let me know how you like it.

A PUPPY

A puppy is a wondrous thing
One never knows what fate will bring
Until that most eventful day
When nature has its final say.

A little soul enters our world
The gender may be boy or girl
Brand new life arrives on Earth
Through the miracle of birth.

An innocent, helpless being
So dependent, not yet seeing
Simple needs: warmth, food and sleep
Mother's love, content and deep.

A puppy grows and learns so fast
Exploring, forming bonds that last
Future adventures are in store
Our heart captured, forever more.

Hopes for a life, happy and long
Picture of health, sturdy and strong
Sharing a love, pure and real
Unconditional is ideal.

Respect all animal life, for we are their protectors,
