By Ann Winter
Among those things I call "a friend"
Are naturesí gifts, on which I depend.
A wagging tail
A slow-paced snail.
A catís meow
A lowing cow.
A whooping crane
A horseís mane.
A butterfly wing
A fairy ring.
A ravenís caw
A fuzzy black paw.
All these things and so much more,
Gain friends, gain love,
Get out, explore.
