I Died
by animallibnow@yahoo.com

I DIED for your nail polish
and for your shiny hair
I still remember screaming
in pain and despair
I DIED for your laundry
I'm sure it's clean and white
remember though the torture
for which they had no right
I DIED for your pleasure
and for your hungry "need"
now I ferment inside your body
why couldn't you nourish from greens?
I DIED for your vanity
and your desire to feel grand
my skin is wrapped around you
while my body is in the sand
I DIED to entertain you
and felt the whips and chains
beat against my body
with fear running through my veins
I DIED for your research
though the whitecoats know not more
they mutilated my body
yet they are as unwise as before
I DIED for your education
my body sliced open by knives
as I lay in front of students
staring from dead unseeing eyes
WHAT have we, the innocent
done worthy of death?
ponder this deeply
as they cut short our last breath
