I am the tie that binds,
the link that heals,
the seed of understanding,
the heart that feels.
I champion the oppressed,
I comfort the lost,
it was my hand that caressed,
no matter the cost.
I speak for the voiceless,
I challenge the government,
and convince the uncaring
that animals are Heaven sent.
You care not for such things,
my dear betrayed, needy one,
you want only love and shelter,
and with me that will be done.
I won't rest on my laurels,
for you I will take on the world,
and hope my epitaph reads,
"Priceless was her heart of gold."
