She's been here for so long now,
and she wonder why it's so.
As she curls up in a tiny cage
and longs for the home she used to know.
She's been here for so long now,
but she does not give up hope.
She's sure she'll find a loving home,
so she makes the best of things and somehow copes.
She's been here for so long now,
but she hopes today's the day.
The day she find her happy home
where she'll love and nap and play.
She's been here for so long now,
she still hopes she'll find her place.
But she hears "I'm sorry" as she's lifted out.
It seems others need her space.
She's been here for so long now,
and she hopes today's the day.
She feels just the slightest pinprick
and her life just slips away.
