MISSION: As a coalition of scientists, doctors, psychologists, social scientists, University of Wisconsin alumni, and animal advocates, our purpose is to end maternal-deprivation experiments at the UW National Primate Research Center, based in the UW-Madison Graduate School. Our specific goal is to secure a ban on such experimentation by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents.
PROPOSED UW-MADISON EXPERIMENT: Baby monkeys in laboratories are taken from their sedated mothers and then the babies are subjected to "various stimuli" to induce fright, terror and anxiety. At one-two years of age they are killed and their brains dissected in a misconcerted effort to find psychotropic drugs to "help" traumatized human children.
