Horse Drawn Carriages

"Beasts of Burden" are treated cruelly

Horses and donkeys in Israel are being abused as "beasts of burden." Cart horses in Israel haul heavy carts filled with furniture, rocks from construction sites, watermelons and other produce for the market. They are malnourished, beaten, provided with no veterinary care, and abandoned at the end of the summer to die. Municipal authorities do little to nothing to enforce regulations, where they exist, or to remove abused animals from their abusers.

Tel Aviv's mayor has refused to do anything about it falling under the influence of cart owners. (Sound familiar New Yorkers?) CHAI (Committee for Helping Animals in Israel) continues to wage their campaign to help these animals. Read about it by clicking here. Please take action and go to their website, which lists contact information. (photo by CHAI).
