ADVICE
We began this Advice section as a means of assisting our visitors in answering many of their health and diet questions, and in encouraging them to take a pro-active part in their own health.  We believe that the information contained herein is true, but are not presenting it as the only solution to a problem.  We, personally, have found that a vegan diet has helped our own health, and simply wish to share with others the things we have found.   Each of us must make our own decisions, for it's our own body.  If you have a health problem, see your own physician.

Exercise

Hi, Gerry: I was ready to start up my running again and have run into the bookcase--a couple of friends think I have broken my small toe. I don't know. lots of bruising and have to be careful which shoes I wear!

>>Poor dear. Been there, done that. You're probably trying to do too much and are under a lot of stress, so your body is taking over and DEMANDING rest. Follow its advice;-)

>>FYI: I was pushing myself hard after the holidays a few years ago and fell down and tore up a knee. Put me out of commission for almost a year. I felt sorry for myself, gained weight, and wallowed in misery until I finally took charge again.

>>And promptly overdid it again. This time I was running backwards in the predawn hours (to stretch out my hamstrings) and stepped in a small pothole and went splattering.

>>The pain was so bad I just laid on the pavement for a few minutes wondering if I'd broken every bone in my body, thankful for the darkness so nobody could see me, and also the early morning zero traffic.

>>Didn't know how I was going to manage to get home. Was near a shopping center so hobbled to a phone. Thankfully my husband hadn't left for work yet and came to rescue me.

>>Cracked wrist seemed to be the most damage. But it was REALLY bad. Even tapping on the mouse key was excruciating. Took MANY, MANY months to heal.

>>Moral to the story? Listen to your body. OR ELSE!!!!

G;-)
