Our Silence About Animal Abuse Promotes Abuse of Humans

Rod,

Are you saying the saving of Gandhiji's life through self preservation was a sin? Or is it the giving up of veganism and/or other acts thoughts or words that constituted the sin you referred to?

If it's the former, it might well be argued that starving to death by choice is a form of suicide, which may be considered more sinful than going against a set of principles. I don't know. Didn't Gandhiji's mother die early in his adult life? And didn't he pursue ahimsa (nonviolence) throughout his life, even to the end?
