I sympathise with your point of view, Dena - though I don't share it. Free range poultry are certainly better off than intensively farmed poultry, for example. But they are still killed long before their natural time. And the manner of death of less constrained cattle is no preferable to that of beef cattle.

However, the point I wanted to make was with regard to milk. Have you tried soy beverage? A couple of years ago it wasn't half as tasty as it is today. Today, I would choose a quality soy "milk" product over the cattle kind, not merely for ethical reasons, but because it actually tastes better.
